20 LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation Easter Eggs

Beaches and LEGO bricks – what could be better for a summer adventure? LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation arrived on Disney+telling an all-new story in which Finn and his friends take a trip on the luxurious Halcyon star cruiser for a long overdue break. As the journey begins, Finn separates from the group and encounters the Force ghosts of three legends from the galaxy far, far away: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Leia Organa. Their summer stories teach Finn a valuable lesson, but these threads also feature something else: enough Easter eggs to fill a space cruiser! As such, StarWars.com has gone through LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation — and even consulted Lucasfilm’s Leland Chee, one of the creators of the original special, as well as writer/executive producer David Shayne. – to uncover as many jokes, story connections, and blink-and-miss-yourself references as possible. Here are 20 of our favorites.

1. This Finnish Disney+ intro.

Easy there on that “skip intro” button, partner! You will miss Finn in LEGO star wars form, cleverly closing the usual intro which plays above all star wars programming on Disney+.

Artoo and Threepio's winter outfit

2. Ugly sweaters strike back.

Consider this one a preview: Artoo and Threepio’s winter outfit will match their minifigure appearance in this year. LEGO star wars Advent calendar.

A Gonk waiter serving a drink

3. Gonk waiters everywhere.

In a sort of running gag, gonk droids can be seen transporting food and drink throughout the special. Of course, since gonk droids don’t have arms, they basically balance plateaus above their “heads”. Not easy!

Bonus fun fact: The Gonks are a personal favorite of director Ken Cunningham, which might explain that Easter egg.

Finn and Obi-wan drink during LEGO Star Wars summer vacation

4. A drop of Yerdua, please.

If you want to try Finn’s drink of choice, you’re in luck. It’s based on an actual drink that you can order at Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser called the “Yerdua Poison-Spitter Drop.”

5. Meet the “galactic libations” droid.

A play on C-3PO’s “human-cyborg relations” programming, the galactic libation droid’s nickname takes the joke one step further: his name is BV-RJ, or “drink.”

Lieutenant Valeria in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

6. What’s in a name?

LEGO Star Wars: The Adventures of Freemaker fans will recognize Lieutenant Valeria, who teams up with Obi-Wan in a tale of his time on Tatooine. But revealed here is her first name — Colvett — which comes from a mashup of voice actress Yvette Nicole Brown’s first and middle names.

Jabba Celebrates LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

7. Dessert for a Hutt.

Jabba’s birthday cake is decorated with the Hutts’ favorite treat: Klatooinian’s paddy frogs. Hey, it’s her party.

8. Some droids are programmed to switch.

Keep your eyes peeled for the crowds in Jabba’s Palace and you’ll spot a protocol droid surfing the crowd.

Art by Star Wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie

9. The origins of Gamorrean girl design.

“Gamorrean Girls” turns out to be a catchy summer tune, and the actual design of the Gamorrean girl at Jabba’s party comes from an authentic source: art by the legendary star wars concept artist Ralph McQuarrie.

Bonus Easter Egg: When Valeria asks Sy Snootles to play “‘Gamorrean Girls’ in the key of D”, she is musically accurate – that’s the actual key of the song.

Boba Fett in his ship in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

10. Boba has a theme and he will use it.

Do you hear that musical cue as Boba rushes in to target Obi-Wan and Colvett? It’s her new theme from the season finale of Boba Fett’s Bookmaking his first appearance outside of this series.

Obi-Wan makes an unexpected wardrobe change

11. Force ghost vaycay.

After his story, Force ghost Obi-Wan makes an unexpected wardrobe change and can be seen wearing the same summer-themed shirt from his story. Even when you achieve immortality, you want to dress appropriately.

R2-D2, C-3PO and BB-8 after the spa in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

12. What is this symbol?

When R2-D2, C-3PO and BB-8 exit the spa, they are all wearing bathrobes and towels with matching logos: the insignia of Chandrila Star Line, owner of the Halcyon star cruiser. This logo is also visible on Star Wars: Galactic Star Cruiser.

Bonus Easter Egg: This streak gets extra points for the slice of cucumber BB-8 wears on his singular goal.

Palpatine and Darth Vader on the beach in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

13. “Twin Suns”, the only sunscreen the Sith Lords trust.

Do not accept any substitutions.

Finn builds Darth Vader's Mustafar castle in the sand

14. Sith castles in the sand.

When Finn goes to the beach, he builds Darth Vader’s Mustafar Castle. Most impressive, considering he didn’t even have a shovel.

Vic Vanko in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

15. “Weird Al” does his star wars beginning!

The great parody singer has his own story with star warsincluding 1980’s “Yoda” and 1999’s “The Saga Begins.” But as Vic Vankoh, he’s now officially part of the star wars galaxy – and his character’s name is inspired by “Yankovic”.

16. It’s not a polka party, but it’s close.

“Weird Al” performs “Scarif Beach Party” in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacationin which his character, Vic Vankoh, holds his fill-in instrument in a manner similar to how Yankovic plays his signature accordion.

Force ghost Anakin in scuba gear in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

17. Diving gear worthy of a Force ghost.

When Anakin shows up at the beach, he pulls out some water sports scuba gear – a nod to the regulator used to create Darth Vader’s breathing sound effect in Star Wars: A New Hope. (As to why a Force ghost needs scuba gear, who cares. We love it.)

Darth Vader with porgs on his head in LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation

18. Tropical Porgs!

These colorful birds indicate the possibility that different types of porgs – first seen on Ahch-To Island in Star Wars: The Last Jedi – exist across the galaxy. Could there be Mustafar porgs? Hoth porgs? We have many questions.

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation Rad

19. 80s-inspired bully.

Ben Solo’s whole misadventure has an ’80s movie vibe, but the obnoxious fist-clenching Rad is directly inspired by bullies who love to hate them like Pretty in pink, Karate Kidand Back to the future. Fortunately, like the antagonists in these stories, Rad gets his reward.

Bonus fun fact: Rad is voiced by acclaimed comedian Paul F. Tompkins, who has previously played characters in star wars animation. But Tompkins’ first star wars the appearance came in a live skit for The Star Wars Showproduced by the StarWars.com team, in which he played the role of a salesman playing “Yodas toys”.

Rey, Finn, Rose and BB-8 in LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation

20. Pink revisited.

Kelly Marie Tran returned to her fan-favorite role of Rose Tico, even re-recording some of her dialogue from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Good to find her.
